request on tutorial for climbing stairs

hi i would like if some of you post a tutorial on climbing up stairs in fps style.
i have made a setup but it has several gliches.
googling -no use.

I'm not much of a game engine expert, but I believe there is a setting somewhere that controls the height a wall can be before your character can no longer step up onto it. Or something like that. I don't have access to Blender at the moment to check.

I don't know much beyond that though when it comes to stairs though.

there is a super easy way to do it, since it is in first person.

you make sure your character's physics is set to "character". When that is done, create the stairs (not too steep) and put a plane above them which is tilting in line with the edge of each step. This will make sure your character can get up the stairs.

However, this is only an easy way of doing it (and most likely the worst way in terms of bugs and such). But it works.
