Add object to multiple layers? [Edit]

Add object to multiple layers? [Edit]

Postby dsavi » January 27th, 2009, 9:12 am

See last post.
I know I've done this by accident once but now that I need it, I don't know how. Any help? Thanks

- Select your object
- In Edit Mode press M
- Hold down shift and select the layers you want your object to be on.
- Click Ok

As far as I know, this is the easiest way.

Double post but meh.

I'd like to use fluid simulation and bullet physics in combination with one another, in this case, one or two objects dropping into water, and the water splashing as they hit the surface. Any idea how to do that?

I'm assuming the final product is going to be an animation, right? If that is true you can just set up your objects in their starting position, and make them an Obstacle in the fluids settings. After that, in the main menu at the top, select Game-->Record Game Physics to IPO. Then press P to start the game.

At this point the movement in the 'game' will be recorded to the IPO editor and can be used in an animation. Then you should be able to Bake the fluids and render like you would for any other animation.

Anyone know how to take a material from another file into the one you want it in? :wall:

Do you mean appending
File>Append or Link>Select the .blend with the material > materials > and finally the material you want to use

Hope that helps.
