Tank (skid Steer)

Tank (skid Steer)

Postby 3LeggedDog » July 18th, 2010, 5:34 am

Well, almost finished with my Tank! Here's a pic., and a link to download the proof of concept vehicle.
Oh; use WSDA to drive the tank; the arrow keys to turn the turret, and raise the barrel, and right control to fire.
Obviously, I need to find some good tutorials on sounds!

That looks awesome!
You should work on texturing next, that'll make it even better. Keep up the good work. Also, I'm noticing the wheels sink into the ground a little bit, you might wanna turn up the collision radius a bit.

Yep; u know something else? I tried to get the real tank to work like the proof of concept vehicle - and it wouldn't work at all. I'll figure it out when I get a little better with the GE.
Thnx for the feedback. (Comments are always welcome! ;))

Hopefully you get it working soon. It should be awesome! I'd try to offer some advice, but I don't know about the game engine. :P

That's looking really cool. I like the controls too, some people have clunky controls, but these worked well with what you are doing. It'll be awesome to see more and the real tank.

Thanks Irascible. Yeah, bad controls can turn the best games into trash; u would think that most of the people who build games, would be good at playing them, but I don't think that is always the case!

It's never very helpful for a game studio to have designers who aren't good at games.
But I would agree that the controls for the tank are sensitive enough, and not too sensitive, as well as being fairly comprehensive. I hope to see the final version soon!
