CrazyBump Educational for Free

CrazyBump Educational for Free

Postby Dictator-for-life » July 24th, 2011, 10:43 am

I am so late on this, but I just found out so I'll share it anyways:

http://crazybump.com/school/

If you belong to some educational institution or another, get your teacher to send in an application. I've never personally used CrazyBump, I've lurked about and examined it, but it's supposed to be one of the best. Now I don't have to spend $49 for the student license, hurrah.

Never heard of it before. I am guessing it makes bump maps?

I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, it's for normal/bump maps, but it also has specularity stuff on it too. Primarily I think it's main usage is in game engine whereas you already have normal and specularity tools in plain rendering. Pretty sweet stuff.

I used to love CrazyBump.... Easy to use, and produces terrific results... But I refuse to buy it. If blender is free, why would I pay for the crap to make it work?! :Naughty:
