Hello there DarkScarab!

As I started my BGE tutorial series I came up with the idea of making my own game while at it.. But not any game, no. A remake of one of the best console-games ever; Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

I will post updates, pictures, videos etc. of the project every now and then in this thread. Keep in mind though as I'm also making a series of tutorials this will take quite some time. (I also have school, and a life.. but yea). Updates are posted at the bottom of this post..

The game as it is right now is still in a very very very early testing and development period. I need to see where my knowledge of logic bricks can't take me any further and I also need to re-make the world. The tests however will not be within Hyrule. It will instead be in a 100% secure testing facility by 'Sheldin-tech Testing Facilities inc.' [children below the age of 1 are not allowed within the testing area]. The test-files for you guys will be very simple now at first. Once I manage to make something decent and minor where you can walk, run, attack etc. I'll post links to the file(s) for testing. At some points the sound will not be included, and at other points sound will be the only thing you will test. And to show you guys what I mean I'll post a test-file once Link has got some simple animations, with sound and attack (even if it's nothing to test really, I just want you guys to be a part of even the smallest steps of this). You will be pre-alpha_dev-testers, Alpha-testers, Beta-testers and hopefully one day full-version-first-time-players!! :D

I've been thinking for a while now and I think I should update the graphics. So instead of having the very sharp low-poly characters I will instead update them to something with more polygons to make it look better. However, as far as nature goes I will not update the polygons, only the textures - Yet.

I uploaded a video of this on Youtube, as found in the first post. And shortly after I uploaded the video I had to focus on my graduation so the game was put on hold as so was the video-logs as well. However, during this time my video got some attention, and I had no idea about it. So a couple of days ago I logged back in on my 2nd Youtube account; SheldinLP, and found a few comments on the video. To my surprise people liked it - but the sound was a one-channel one-speaker mono thing which a few pointed out as well.

But anyway, it got some attention! And I think this project of mine could help the growing of DS, slightly. As it is now summer I can work more on this as long as my music doesn't get in the way - which means more occasional updates and more attention. See where I'm going with this? :)

A little update from my "test game"-file. On this file I do all my tests, in order to not ruin the actual remake.

I've been trying to get good looking water for a while now, which I succeeded with just recently, and on top of it all, I managed to get my character to swim!
