There are dozens of those kinds of services out there. They are good if you're looking to render something fast, but the cost isn't worth the result unless you're being paid for the renders. I'd say don't bother.

Yes, but the beta for this is currently free so I can try it out but im not sure if its worth the hassle to try and install onto my blender

check it out:

http://www.renderfarm.fi/blender

On a Side Note ~ I didn't want to create a new topic for this so here it is, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a 2.53 blender.exe for win 32 since I downloaded the new one (2.54), and everytime I try to open up my porsche, that I was working on, all the buttons go away and none of the shortcuts work :( and then I try to open blender up without clicking on the file and all the buttons go "bye bye forever" so if anyone can get me a 2.53 build that would be much appreciated (since I cant find it on the website or maybe im not looking hard enough...)

p.s i also tried re-installing it but it didn't work

Any version of Blender you could ever hope for: http://download.blender.org/release/

Renderfarm isn't installed already? I remember seeing it listed in the add-ons when I was looking through them. I would guess that turning that on all is all it needs. Then again, I could be wrong.

I think that was for the beta version, which looks like they aren't doing that anymore. http://www.renderfarm.fi should work though. I assume they aren't offering anything for free anymore.

-----

A render farm is a set of computers people use to do large rendering jobs that would otherwise take too long to do on one computer. The vast majority of the time, people use render farms when they are rendering animations (thousands of frames to render). Basically, render farms give you the power of many computers to render your scenes/animations much more quickly.

The drawback to a render farm is that using one will cost you money/time, either through paying someone else who has already built a render farm or by connecting a set of your own computers together. I personally don't plan on using a render farm until I have a large animation to render or if I get paid to create an animation with a close deadline.
