Bone resizing fail?

Bone resizing fail?

Postby wagnerpf » September 9th, 2011, 2:52 pm

When I try resizing bones they never increase or decrease away from their original radius size. This is making rigging the hands of my model quite difficult lol. Any suggestions?

I don't quite get what you mean by that. Could you clarify exactly what you're doing, and what you expect to happen?

I'm trying to resize a bone so that the bone is "thinner." When I select the bone and hit "S," the bone will become either longer or shorter but not thinner. I'm not clicking the middle mouse button or anything; i have no idea why it refuses to resize this dimension of the bone. None of the resize locks are on.

In order to resize bones, you use alt+s, rather than just using s. That should give you the result you want.

Hmm, that's not doing anything. I'm using blender 2.5, don't know if that changes anything..

In object mode alt+s resizes the entire armature but when I go to edit mode to change the size of an individual bone it does nothing.

I swear I used to know this, but I've forgotten it now, sorry. I'll play around for a while and see if I remember how to do it.
