Eyes

Eyes

Postby bonrw1 » December 11th, 2014, 3:56 pm

Hey all!
I wouldn't exactly call this a masterpiece, but it looks good for a fake eyeball :P
Modelled in blender, textures in photoshop, rendering and shading in cycles.
I hope you enjoy! :)

I think they look great! Do you plan on using them for something/someone or is this just a quick learning project?

Thanks! I would say that I would probably use the sane model, but with different textures and a little more detail in the shading if I was going to add it to like a head. I mainly did it to test a shader :P

Looking great! I would like to see them in a head though :P Have any heads you can just push these into to test? ^^

Of course! I am going to create a realistic head some time soon, and post my progress on these forums, so any feedback will be needed XD

I am looking forward to seeing that head! :D
One thing to note, the reflections seem off to me, could just be me but heres a list of IOR(index of refraction) values for the human eye:
Eye, Aqueous humor 1.33
Eye, Cornea 1.38
Eye, Lens 1.41
Eye, Vitreous humor 1.34
For super real eyes, the values you set should be these or close to them.
Heres a picture of eye reflection: https://johnschupbach.files.wordpress.c ... ection.jpg (click this link to view the image)

See how the reflection is different over the iris and pupil than it is everywhere else?
I would say go for that effect. :P

Ah yes, why didn't I address the IOR?? :? I guess this was more of a Cartoony eye shader, but I will be going really in-depth with shaders in the next eye for the head. Thanks for all the IOR references! They will help a lot! :) I think I will start posting my progress today, seeing as I have completed a base mesh ;)

Please do post your progress, but perhaps make a new topic for it if its for something different than the eyes :P
