My first rendering in blender 2.66 with cycles

This is not a good one.but this is my first render in cycles.felt satisfied.

For a first render its not bad at all :)
Cycles isnt all that easy to understand, with all the material nodes etc...
Did you try to make the chain chrome?

A few tips that i can give you:
-Never have a texture that is smaller than the resolution of the render cover the entire thing, its often better to tile the texture so that it repeats itself.
-Try to add some detail to the table/floor by using a bump or normal map.
-Make sure the background is not visible(gray top left and something else top right.

yeah that left ant right corners are portions of snowy mountain bg which the chain reflects if you closely watch it.i don't understand normal maps and bump maps, how to use it...and is the floor texture looks like low-res?

Yes, the wood texture looks lower res compared to the render itself.

If you need good tutorials on texture stuff visit BlenderGuru, He explains textures in many of his tutorials.
